CANOPY SUPERVISOR

Grahams the Family Dairy is looking to recruit a Canopy Supervisor for their production site at Glenfield in Cowdenbeath, Fife. Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, you will be entrusted with a high degree of independence and have a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful impact towards the growth of the business. This role is dayshift, 5 days over 7.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Previous dairy experience preferred
· Good general level of education preferably to HNC/HND standard in food technology or equivalent preferred
· People management experience
The successful candidate should have good people supervisory skills. In addition, you will have excellent planning and organisational skills. You must be a proven problem solver and can use your own initiative to resolve operational issues and drives continuous improvement.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £14.80 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities

· Supports and assists the Shift Manager in the smooth running of the production area.
· Ensures all procedures are carried out in accordance with the Company Quality System.
· Ensures product quality meets, or exceeds, specification.
· Ensures the production of products run efficiently and that staff are always supervised
· Manages staff breaks.
· Sharing technical knowledge with team members to improve their capabilities. Mentoring, coaching & developing team members in company behaviours.
· Utilises all available opportunities, enabling others to improve the way we do things
· Ensure good manufacturing practices are adopted at all times.
· Ensure staff adhere to company hygiene / quality standards at all times.
· To maintain effective communication channels with all members of the team.
· Takes responsibility for the shift when the Shift Manager is not in the production area.
· Ensure labels printed as per plan standards, dates match with daily plan and correct format
· Ensure all final product pallets sorted follow the correct production procedures
