ABOUT US
Torello Farm is a fast-growing business located in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula. Originally established in 2017 as a premium farm gate offering locally grown, grazed, and gathered produce, we have expanded our offerings to include a variety of ready-made meals crafted from our own grass fed lamb, beef, and seasonal produce. Our meals are sold through our Farm Gate, and we pride ourselves on creating delicious, high-quality dishes using the best local ingredients.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Farmhouse Production Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of the kitchen, you will oversee the production of our take-home meals, pickles and preserves while managing a small team of casual staff. The role requires someone who is passionate about high-quality food, has strong leadership skills, and is able to maintain efficiency and consistency in a fast-paced production environment.
You will have the opportunity to work with locally sourced produce, implement set recipes, create specials when required and ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly. Your leadership and expertise will play a key role in maintaining the standard of our meals, as well as assisting in the overall growth of our production capacity.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
· Meal Production: Lead the production of a variety of take-home meals, pickles and preserves ensuring they are consistently high-quality and ready for sale.
· Team Management: Supervise and support a small team of 4 casual staff, providing guidance and ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently.
· Quality Control: Monitor all kitchen processes, ensuring all meals are prepared according to set recipes and meet our high-quality standards.
· Inventory Management: Help track stock levels, manage produce deliveries, and ensure that the kitchen is fully stocked and prepared for each production run.
· Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all food safety standards are met and maintained, including cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with relevant regulations.
· Operational Efficiency: Work collaboratively with the team to streamline processes and ensure timely production for customer demand.
