ABOUT US:

Altilium is a UK-based company that recycles electric vehicle (EV) batteries to recover valuable materials.
EV batteries, even after their life in vehicles, still contain important minerals like lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese and graphite. These minerals are essential for making new batteries but are limited and often come from virgin mining, which uses a lot of resources and creates environmental impact.
At Altilium, we safely extract these critical minerals from end-of-life EV batteries. We then process and prepare them to be returned into the supply chain to make new batteries. This recycling helps reduce reliance on mining, conserves natural resources, and supports a circular economy.
We work with major partners including Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Nissan, and our work is supported by the UK government, helping to strengthen domestic battery supply chains and create sustainable industry growth.
Our efforts contribute to building a more sustainable and efficient battery supply chain - supporting cleaner, reliable transportation and industry in the UK.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for skilled, adaptable, and proactive individuals to join us at Altilium’s EV Battery Recycling Plant in Plymouth.
You’ll be part of an ambitious, diverse, and driven team, helping to guide our plant from the final stages of its build phase into full-scale operation. This includes everything from assembling and testing equipment and processes, to supporting the day-to-day running of the plant.
In this role, you’ll operate and maintain pilot-scale equipment, troubleshoot day-to-day maintenance issues, and as operations ramp up, transition into a chemical processing role – feeding materials into our extraction process, monitoring reactions, and helping produce high-quality recovered metals. Full training will be provided.
This opportunity is ideal for highly motivated individuals who enjoy hands-on, varied work and have experience in areas such as chemical handling and heavy equipment handling . You’ll have a solid understanding of health and safety protocols (including COSHH and risk assessments) and the confidence to follow procedures that ensure a safe, efficient working environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the installation, setup, and maintenance of equipment
  • Operate processing equipment with precision and care
  • Perform checks and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations
  • Carry out routine maintenance to ensure machinery and equipment are in good working order
  • Help ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and wearing necessary PPE
  • Handle and transfer chemicals safely using appropriate PPE and following strict safety protocols
  • This role in the future, will involve chemical sampling, handling, and inventory management. Full Training will be provided.
  • Active participation in emergency response protocols.
