Job Summary: The Commissary Production Junior Cook supports daily food production by preparing, portioning, and assembling menu items according to Stella’s recipes and production standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining consistent quality, food safety, and efficient workflow within the commissary kitchen and to our restaurant locations.   Key Responsibilities: * Prepare, measure, and portion ingredients for daily production. * Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements to ensure efficient, safe and sanitary food production, receiving, food storage and facility maintenance * Cook and assemble menu items following Stella’s recipes, portion guides, and production sheets. * Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, mixers, and steamers. * Perform daily and weekly inventory counts; rotate stock using FIFO to reduce waste. * Accountable for the execution of cleaning checklists, and the general tidiness of station area throughout shift as per Stella’s “clean as you go” policy * Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor. * Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth production flow and timely output. * Demonstrate proper knife handling and basic culinary techniques. * Manage time efficiently and maintain productivity during high-volume periods. * Support other production tasks as assigned by the supervisor or kitchen manager.   Qualifications: * Maintain Manitoba Food Handler and WHMIS certificate  * Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or commissary environment preferred. * Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen procedures, and food safety * Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production timelines. * Strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and time-management skills. * Knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. * Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs or as required. * Readiness to embrace leadership responsibilities * Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment * Required to work a minimum of 25 hours and a variety of shifts including days and evenings.
