BWXT Canada Ltd. is currently seeking a Production Coordinator to join our Cambridge, Ontario team!
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that production schedules align with both customer requirements and internal shop capabilities. Your day-to-day will involve proactive coordination, problem-solving, and effective communication across multiple departments.
Plan and Prioritize Work: Develop and maintain detailed work lists at critical production facilities. Collaborate with upstream teams to confirm job readiness, expedite missing inputs, and keep everything on track.
Drive Schedule Recovery: When critical jobs fall behind, you’ll step in to create recovery schedules. You’ll assess current job status, identify outstanding tasks, and work with Shop Supervisors and Quality Control to realign activities with project timelines.
Coordinate Manpower Planning: Monitor available manpower and identify gaps in capacity. You’ll also support the development of weekly overtime requests to ensure production milestones are met.
Lead Non-Conformance (NR) Reporting and Analysis: Track and report on NR trends and costs, ensuring supervisors are aware of issues and follow-up actions. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address recurring issues and promote accountability.
Ensure Material Readiness: Validate material lists and coordinate with procurement and vendors to ensure materials are available when and where they’re needed. You’ll also manage the return of in-process materials when necessary.
Resolve Shop Floor Issues: Help troubleshoot production bottlenecks or schedule delays by facilitating discussions, expediting resources, and escalating issues to leadership as needed. You’ll often chair meetings to maintain momentum and alignment.
Monitor Progress and Report Updates: Provide weekly progress updates, highlight deviations (both positive and negative), and discuss performance with Shop Supervisors. Your input will drive real-time adjustments and continuous improvement.
Support Customer Interactions: Coordinate customer hold and witness points by clearly understanding and communicating schedule status, shop plans, and contractual requirements to relevant stakeholders.
