POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Analyst to join our operations team at Crain Walnut Shelling. This role focuses on analyzing production data, optimizing processes, and supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities in our walnut shelling and processing operations. The Production Analyst will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a key role in enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring smooth production flows. This is an hourly position with a competitive pay range of $30 to $38 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience in manufacturing or production analysis may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in a production analyst or similar role within manufacturing, preferably in food processing, agriculture, or industrial environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Ignition SCADA software, including configuration, scripting, and integration.
  • Expertise in SCADA APIs, OPC data handling, and industrial automation protocols.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and visualization (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, and macros).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, data mining techniques, and fundamental analysis for production optimization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing efficiencies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including occasional shift work or on-call support as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement in efficiency, waste reduction, and productivity.
  • Monitor production metrics, including output rates, inventory levels, and resource utilization, to support informed decision-making and forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scheduling models using tools like Excel to track performance and provide actionable insights to the operations team.
  • Work hands-on with Ignition SCADA software to monitor, control, and troubleshoot production processes in real-time.
  • Integrate and manage data through SCADA APIs, OPC (Open Platform Communications) protocols, and related industrial automation systems to ensure seamless data flow and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance, to implement process optimizations and resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Assist in inventory management, cost modeling for products, and administrative functions to maintain plant efficiency and resource allocation.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and support continuous improvement initiatives in line with manufacturing best practices.
