JOB DESCRIPTION:

Translarity seeks a Production Design Engineer for our Hutto, Texas facility with a background in Mechanical Engineering to design custom semiconductor test devices. This person will design products and fixturing to be made and assembled by our in-house manufacturing group. This person will work closely with these groups as well as customers to optimize product performance while maintaining best DFM practices. Applicant will be given opportunities to expand into and develop other company processes as well.
· Understand and utilize basic GD&T
· Strong user of SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and 2D CAD
· Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently, as well as with small teams
· Ability to learn metrology tools
· Ability to design fixturing and manufacturing aids
· Good DFM practices for machined components
· Develop processes and enable improvements on standard and new product releases
Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Mechanical Engineering.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
· Experience in a fast-paced development environment
· Experience understanding customer needs and delivering solutions on short timelines
· At least two years of SolidWorks experience
