Description

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Plastic injection molding and automated high-volume assembly
  • 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • GD&T knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret G-code
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 standards
  • Experience with automation, sensors, vision systems, PLCs, 2D barcodes
  • Hands-on use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
  • Project management, capital expenditures, vendor management
  • Process capability (Cpk), process flow analysis, gauge R&R, time studies
  • Fixture design and tooling selection for lathes, mills, grinders, deburring machines
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Production Engineer Level 2, you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes in a high-volume automotive environment. This includes production flow, assembly methods, production equipment, and process optimization for cost, quality, and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes
  • Coordinate manufacturing launch of new/revised products (APQP, control plans, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions)
  • Develop manning plans based on volume forecasts
  • Provide input into product design for manufacturability and assembly
  • Design, source, and justify tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Perform process analysis for cost reduction and quality improvement
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen/continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain documentation on downtime, scrap, efficiencies, and corrective actions
