Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

This post is for a Production Engineering and Integration Manager reporting to the BDUK Design, Maintenance, Modifications and Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The role will be the First Line Leader for a team of Production Engineers and Aircraft Integration team members supporting the E7 Build Program.
This position will have day to day direction over the Material Review Board (MRB), Manufacturing Planning (MP), Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Industrial Engineering (IE) and Integration and Test team members. They will directly interface with the on-site leadership to ensure the team is operating efficiently and providing the required support to the programs.
This post is ‘dual hatted’. They will also have responsibility for the co-ordination of and the work scope execution of the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test team (SEIT). The SEIT team will be assigned to a SEIT manager from a Workday alignment perspective. The successful candidate will need to work closely with the SEIT manager for the performance management and welfare of the SEIT team (including any Graduate placements).

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Overseeing and/or performing Aircraft Production Engineering and SE Integration activities, such as:
  • Non-Conformance Reports to support the aircraft build
  • Planning/Scheduling activities for the aircraft build and program deliverables
  • Support Equipment availability
  • Install and Functional Test Check Out on Air Vehicle and Mission Systems
  • Test Readiness reviews through to task completion
  • Flight Readiness Reviews and preparation toward Functional Check Flights
  • Electromagnetic radiation management and preparation towards Safety of Flight
  • Integration between Boing Test & Evaluation requirements and production outputs
  • Aircraft Weighing
  • Support Equipment availability
  • Identification, analyses, collation and reporting of limitations imposed on the Airborne Missions Segment
  • Responsible for the execution of the SEIT team’s SOW (included above)
  • Integration, co-ordination and delivery of work across functional teams, for example Production Engineering, Safety, Software, and also across the Boeing E-7 global partners, specifically Oklahoma City (OKC) and Boeing Defence Australia (BDA)
  • Growing the Engineering capability for the company from both a strategic and tactical perspective
  • Continuous Improvement across the capability including interfaces to other engineering teams and other functions within the business.
  • Engineering inputs to programmes
  • Input to Business Development campaigns and proposals
  • Management associated tasks for your direct reports
  • Develop and maintain Statement of Work (SOW) to satisfy current and emerging programme requirements.
  • Respond to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiate proposed changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
  • Identify metrics and report to leadership to provide a status of functional performance.
  • Compare actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
  • Plan, identify, and coordinate resources required to support the programme through the management of functional resource requirements and reporting into weekly reviews.
  • Define plans for risk, issue and opportunity mitigation ensuring items created through the execution of engineering activities are managed and reported appropriately.
  • Provide technical coordination for the development and execution of project
  • Work with the SEIT Manager on aspects including work scope, forward load, performance management feedback, growing networks with the wider Enterprise.
