The Boeing Company is seeking a self-motivated Production Engineering Manager to lead the Equipment and Tooling engineering team for the Interiors Responsibility Center in North Charleston, SC.
The IRCSC Equipment & Tooling engineering team is responsible for the design and fabrication of the tools, assembly jigs, shop hardware and assets required by the IRCSC operations teammates to build 787 furnishings assemblies. The team is also responsible for the acquire and modify tasks associated with large assets within the IRCSC as well as partnering with other organizations to support maintenance and repair actions for these assets.
The ideal candidate would have a deep internal desire to improve the production system, familiarity with aircraft interior design and/or fabrication, be able to manage multiple competing deadlines, and experience leading teams to achieve organizational objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE):

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
3+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering team.
5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

Flexible and adaptable with a diverse, creative and innovative mindset
Excellent communication, project management, presentation, facilitation skills, and the ability to effectively work in a team environment.
Be able to interact positively with people throughout Boeing & the partner/customer base
2+ years of experience in Production Engineering
Minimum of 1 year experience in engineering management or technical management

PAY RANGE SUMMARY:

K-Level Manager- $129,200 - $174,800

Responsibilities

Lead a team of Equipment and Tooling engineers to meet targets in the areas of productivity, safety, quality, and cost
Lead, develop, and motivate employees
Partner with operations, design engineering, and other key organizations to meet production targets in support of future 787 rate breaks and quality requirements
Take ownership of improvements that are both directly aligned to the engineering skill as well as efforts that require cross-functional partnering
Hold team members accountable to deliverables
Lead cultural change following Boeing Production System
Provide management leadership to the IRC Factory Support Control Center (FSCC) cross functional team
Partner with Finance to manage risks and forecast quarterly budgets
