Description
We are seeking a qualified Foreman to oversee evening operations, Monday through Friday, at our terminal located at 263 Edward Street, St. Thomas, Ontario. You will need to be solution-oriented and have management experience, ideally in an industrial, transportation, or agricultural setting. You will be responsible for managing the operations of the Terminal. These operations involve receiving, storing and loading dry/liquid fertilizer for import and export purposes. The facilities include silos and storage areas for fertilizers, sorting and sampling towers. Your main mission will be to structure and develop operations by relying on your team and collaborating with your colleagues on the management team. **This position involves working flexible hours, including evenings or nights, to ensure supervision needs are met YOUR ROLE Supervise a production team to achieve the objectives of the Terminal (team composed of control room operators and day labourers);Implement the achievement of production objectives through the monitoring of performance indicators;Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility and equipment; Coordinate, with the maintenance team, planned maintenance shutdowns; Verify the maintenance of inventories as well as the quality of the fertilizer; Manage site inspections and review of plans to address any deficiencies; Manage fertilizer flow to maximize efficiency and minimize the risk of damage; Manage fertilizer shipping and receiving processes to consistently meet all truck and rail loading and unloading requirements; Manage all legislated work program requirements for the site; Manage the Estimates to ensure that they are consistent with established performance objectives; Participate in the planning and implementation of processes to create a safe environment; Collaborate with the logistics team and carriers to coordinate shipments; Perform the duties of your team's employees as this is a working position and to be able to drive all equipment on site; YOUR ADVANTAGES: Flexible group insurance plan; Defined contribution pension plan; Permanent, full-time position; Paid overtime; Competitive salary; Annual bonus; Vacation bank upon arrival at the post; Corporate discounts with our partners; Training adapted to your needs; Peer-to-peer recognition program; Employee and Family Assistance Program and Telemedicine; Virtual wellness and fitness platforms; YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE You have work-related training and/or significant work experience of at least 3 years in a related role; You demonstrate a good knowledge of the Office Suite; You have excellent communication and problem-solving skills; Due to the nature of the role requiring interactions with national clients, communication skills.
