Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Directs and supervises Production Supervisors, Team Members and production operations to ensure correct, accurate and timely completion of production and delivery schedules. Institutes and maintains safe work practices and capability of directing plant emergencies. Perform the training and development of Team Members in both the sociological and technological aspects of their responsibilities. Ensures strict compliance with Quality Control standards and promotes the Company’s reputation and image as a “Quality Producer”. Communicates and counsels production employees to maintain a high level of understanding. Manages in such a way as to promote and maintain a high level of trust and integrity with production employees. Analyzes production to determine where improvements may be made which will contribute to the plant’s profitability. Practices problem solving in all aspects of the business by managing Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Morale. Able to detect abnormalities and escalate when problems are not fixed during the standard time. Responsible to maintain visual boards updated to serve as the tool to expose abnormalities and problem solving. Responsible to audit Team members on the frequency assigned. Responsible to receive material in the system, audit logistic routes and schedule production. Responsible to follow quality checks and systems to ensure quality of the parts being produced. Responsible to understand the hour by hour abnormalities that come from the machines and problem solve the issues arising. Environmental, Health & Safety: - Ensure the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System. - Providing leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes: continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions. - Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded - Assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis - Assisting in the investigation of accidents. This includes: - Identifying hazardous situations that are associated with the accident - Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area - Investigate all near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred within the incident area - Ensure the results of environmental/safety audits are documented; monitoring the investigation of accidents and injuries; ensuring that corrective actions are taken; and providing recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents - Ensure that all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner Customer Requirements: Must understand and comply with all applicable Customer Specific Requirements (SQAM) Requirements Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: High School Education or equivalent with some college preferred. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing and supervisory roles. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Candidate has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Candidate has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Other Skills and Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate microsoft Office programs. Candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes. Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.
Responsibilities
This role directs and supervises production supervisors and team members to ensure timely completion of production and delivery schedules while maintaining strict compliance with quality standards. The leader is responsible for analyzing production for profitability improvements and actively managing safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and morale through problem-solving practices.
