Bulla Mushrooms (Aust) Pty Ltd is a leading Australian mushroom producer committed to delivering high-quality, fresh mushrooms to the market. With our strong focus on innovation and sustainable practices, we have established ourselves as a key player in the horticulture industry.
We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Production Horticulture Supervisor to join our dedicated team at our farm based in Diggers Rest, VIC 3427.
As a Production Horticulture Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing our entire mushroom production cycle, from spawn to harvest. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in horticulture and a passion for managing a successful and sustainable growing operation.
Salary: $68,000 - 78,000 per annum plus superannuation.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least AQF Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Leadership and Management, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of pest and disease control, and a commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Relevant certifications in chemical handling or horticulture are a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise all stages of mushroom production, ensuring crop cycles meet scheduled targets for harvest.
  • Verify that all crops and growing rooms have passed the required withholding period for any chemical applications before harvesting.
  • Manage the post-harvest cooling and handling process to maintain optimal quality.
  • Oversee and maintain specialized harvesting and packing equipment, ensuring it is always in excellent working condition.
  • Liaise with the Management, Horticulture Grower, and Maintenance Supervisor to optimize workflow and address operational needs.
  • Monitor crop quality throughout the entire growing and harvesting period to minimize damage and waste.
  • Identify and report signs of unusual disease, pests, or competitor moulds to management.
  • Manage the transport, storage, and application of chemicals and compost supplements as needed.
  • Operate and maintain chemical application machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinate on-site activities, including team schedules and safety protocols.
  • Perform essential shed and nursery activities, including substrate preparation and spawn inoculation.
  • Regulate environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, CO2) in growing rooms to ensure optimal mushroom development.
  • Develop and implement post-harvest programs to ensure the longevity and freshness of the final product.
