Join our Kids Cafe team at Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia! As a vital part of our kitchen crew, you’ll play a crucial role in preparing and packaging up to 7,000 nutritious meals daily for our after-school and summer programs, catering specifically to low-income children.
This full-time position requires a commitment of 30+ hours per week, with a typical schedule running Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Flexibility is essential to accommodate fluctuating workloads.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in food service, with a preference for those who have worked in institutional settings such as hospitals, schools, universities, or factories.
This role supports our Kids Cafe program by assisting with daily kitchen setup and cleanup, helping drivers get meals for their delivery sites, and most importantly, working closely with volunteers who plate and package meals. A friendly, positive personality and strong customer service skills are essential, as you’ll be guiding and supporting volunteers each day.
Applicants should be capable of regularly lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting and/or moving of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and math skills are essential for success in this role.

This position has a $2 per hour premium which pays in addition to the base rate of $15 per hour. After the successful completion of a 90 day probationary period the base rate increases to $16 per hour plus the $2 per hour premium. Full benefits include medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, generous paid time off and a 401k with company match.
