JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Lab Technologist oversees daily production activities, ensures quality standards, and supports team performance. This role combines hands-on technical expertise to maintain efficient and safe operations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in laboratory settings and/or processes.

EDUCATION, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. degree in Microbiology, biotechnology, or related fields; Advance degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Requires standing/walking in a Manufacturing/Warehouse/Office environment
  • Able to work with chemicals using the appropriate PPE
  • Able to work within varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Responsibilities
  • Follows all policies, protocols, and SOPs.
  • Lead and coordinate production line activities to meet daily output and quality goals.
  • Train, mentor, and support production technicians in procedures, safety, and equipment use.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Perform routine and advanced production tasks, including cell culture, slide spotting, equipment setup and operation.
  • Perform aseptic techniques to culture, maintain, and harvest various cell lines.
  • Prepare media, reagents, and solutions required for cell culture.
  • Monitor cell growth, morphology, and viability using appropriate methods.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve production issues and implement improvements.
  • Work effectively with manufacturing team members to collaborate and achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Label and organize slides for analysis and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of slide preparation and manufacturing for traceability requirements under all relevant regulatory bodies (e.g. ISO 13485:2016, EU IVDR:2017, FDA 21 CFR Part 812.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following all workplace rules, protocols, and procedures.
  • Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complete on-going training of new procedures, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Help to maintain a work environment in compliance with OSHA, GMP, and GLP.
  • Other duties as assigned.
