POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Lead & CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for operating CNC lathe machinery with precision to manufacture custom contact lenses. This role oversees the daily work of lab technicians and supports the Production Manager in coordinating lab operations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production goals are met. The Lead plays a key role in training, troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement within the lab environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of CNC lathe operation experience, preferably in medical device, optics, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience with small-part machining, fine tolerances, and soft materials (e.g., polymers or hydrogels) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with G-code, precision measuring tools, and quality control practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead by example, motivate team members, and promote a collaborative work culture.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom or laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
