The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Production Lead to lead our food production operations and drive excellence across all aspects of the department. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will serve as the key operational leader, responsible for overseeing the production team, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency. This hands-on role requires a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day operational demands with long-term continuous improvement initiatives. You will be instrumental in maintaining our commitment to GMP compliance, food safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer experiences through operational excellence. About the Role Production Operations & Quality Drive safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy and service improvements within the department Ensure production lines and machines are organized, prepared, cleaned, setup, and maintained to Health and Safety standards, ensuring only quality products are packaged Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment as required Monitor the work environment to ensure compliance with GMPs, Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and all company policies and procedures Ensure corrective and preventative actions are carried out regarding non-conformances, process deviations and complaints Inventory & Planning Keeps stock control systems up to date and plans for future capacity requirements Manages the accuracy of finished goods and raw materials inventory through solid cycle counting processes and procedures Participate and help with annual physical inventory counts Print and prepare all work orders and production labels via Sage (ERP) Report daily production output and material usage into Sage (ERP) Team Leadership & Development Hold daily meetings to review KPIs, provide update, allocate new priorities, and listen to employee feedback Oversee employee performance, provide guidance, support, and identify development needs Provide training to warehouse staff on operational procedures and warehouse management systems to ensure optimal efficiency and strict compliance with GMP standards Oversee production team, providing support, mentorship, as well as tracking and approving timesheets, vacation, sick leave and daily schedules in Rippling Collaborate with the Plant Manager to determine staffing levels and assign workloads Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless continuity between production, sales, supply chain, customer support, fulfillment, and other departments as needed Attend regular production meetings and share opportunities, potential risks, and production numbers with cross-functional teams Who you Are Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, industrial engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Minimum 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing management, preferably in a food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment Proven track record of leading teams and driving operational improvements Technical Skills Strong knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) HACCP, and food safety regulations Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control software (ERP) such as Sage Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management Understanding of lead manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Experience with HRIS tools such as Rippling for time tracking Leadership & Interpersonal Skills Exceptional leadership and people management abilities with a focus on team development and engagement Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Results-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Additional Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing plant Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to all safety protocols Why Work With Us $55,000.00 - $75,000.00/year base salary* Comprehensive Health Benefits - We've got you and your family covered for medical, paramedical, dental & vision benefits, and beyond!
