Description Job Summary: As a Production Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations on your assigned shift. This includes supervising Production Operators, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining efficient operation of equipment and processes. You will serve as the primary point of contact for your shift, providing guidance, training, and problem-solving support while maintaining clear communication with supervisors and management. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of production equipment, and the ability to drive performance while fostering teamwork. Requirements Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight Direct and coordinate daily activities of Production Operators to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met. Act as the shift point-of-contact for management, maintenance, and quality assurance. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust resources to meet production demands. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and company policies. Lead daily shift huddles to review goals, safety reminders, and production priorities. Production Operations Oversee the operation and monitoring of evaporators, decanters, dryers, bagging equipment, and hydrolysis systems. Troubleshoot process or equipment issues, escalating to maintenance or supervisors when needed. Ensure operators maintain accurate process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates, etc.). Review and verify production records, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Safety & Quality Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring PPE usage and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct regular safety checks and report/resolve hazards or incidents. Monitor product quality and address deviations in coordination with Quality Assurance. Training & Development Provide on-the-job training and coaching to Production Operators. Support employee development by sharing technical expertise and reinforcing best practices. Assist in onboarding new team members and evaluating operator performance. Communication & Reporting Communicate shift performance, challenges, and updates to supervisors and management. Document shift activities, downtime, and corrective actions. Collaborate with other shift leads to ensure consistency across operations. Requirements Prior experience as a Production Operator or in a similar manufacturing environment. Demonstrated leadership ability in a production or manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Solid understanding of production equipment (evaporators, decanters, dryers, hydrolysis systems, and bagging lines). Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
