Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Production (Area) Leader for our Oriented Strand Board (OSB) manufacturing site in Englehart, Ontario. Reporting to a Production Superintendent, this position is accountable for safety, environmental compliance, scheduling, communications, and continuous improvement of a production area.

  • Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge relevant to the production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all team activities strictly adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and hazards in the workplace.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and team members.
  • Manage a team of hourly employees, providing leadership and direction.
  • Schedule and oversee training to ensure the team is equipped with necessary skills.
  • Prioritize work for the team, ensuring that critical tasks are identified and promptly addressed.
  • Enter work orders and manage requisitions to maintain production efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with the assigned Production Area.
  • Track and aim to reduce area downtime through effective management and planning.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and ensure they are completed on time
