We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to lead our processing operations in a recycling facility, promote the highest levels of quality and performance, and drive a strong culture of health and safety, environmental compliance, and employee welfare. This role requires adaptability to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and the ability to work effectively with employees from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage production using the most advanced recycling machinery to ensure high productivity and implement smarter, more efficient processes.
- Plan and control the work of processing teams across 2 shifts, ensuring targets are met for health & safety, environmental compliance, quality, volume, and productivity.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, creating and applying CI techniques/programs to maintain high standards of efficiency, safety, and cleanliness.
- Build and lead a strong, motivated team focused on quality, safety, and collaboration, with sensitivity to cultural and language differences.
- Ensure effective planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is maintained and executed for all departmental equipment and systems.
- Provide hands-on support where necessary, demonstrating strong leadership and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar production or operations management role, ideally in a recycling facility.
- Strong mechanical background, with the ability to engage directly in technical aspects when required.
- Experience managing multi-teams and shift patterns, particularly in fast-paced and high-growth environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example, motivate teams, and effectively manage people from diverse cultures and languages.
- Strong understanding and implementation of continuous improvement (CI) and risk management methodologies.
- A self-starter with initiative and ownership of operational delivery and the drive to improve productivity and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical, solution-oriented approach.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- WAMITAB qualification
- IOSH qualification
- Institution of Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent
- Current Forklift Truck License
- CAD experience
