POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations in our precision machining facility. This role is responsible for leading the production team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals while supporting continuous improvement across all processes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in precision manufacturing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to motivate teams to consistently deliver high-performance parts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a production leadership role within a precision machining or advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing CNC machining, assembly, or fabrication operations (Swiss, mill-turn, multi-axis preferred).
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, workflow optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and supervise production teams to meet or exceed performance targets for quality, throughput, and on-time delivery.
  • Schedule and coordinate daily/weekly production activities based on customer demand and available resources.
  • Monitor shop floor operations and respond to issues quickly to minimize downtime and bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with planning, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth workflow and efficient resource use.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company guidelines.
  • Track and report key production metrics (OEE, scrap rates, labor efficiency, downtime) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate job travelers, work instructions, and documentation are followed on the floor.
  • Participate in new product introductions and work closely with engineering to ensure manufacturability.
  • Manage labor scheduling, overtime, and staffing needs to meet customer deadlines while controlling labor costs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
