Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and develop bakery team members while promoting Lean practices and embedding continuous improvement tools into daily operations.
  • Champion efficiency by reducing waste, improving equipment reliability, and optimizing processes through Lean methodologies such as 5S, visual management, root cause analysis, and standardized work.
  • Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement (Kaizen) by encouraging problem-solving, daily huddles, and active employee engagement.
  • Take full accountability for both personnel safety and food safety; lead by example and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and BRC standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement projects that improve efficiency, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, training tools, and execution plans to ensure knowledge transfer and consistent performance.
  • Set clear performance expectations and communicate effectively with employees; conduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews.
  • Optimize labor resources and work schedules to achieve cost targets while supporting flexibility for improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in structured problem-solving (A3, PDCA, root cause analysis) to address issues quickly and sustainably.
  • Continuously enhance processes, equipment efficiency, and service delivery using Lean principles to ensure long-term scalability.
  • Support the development of performance metrics (KPIs, dashboards, tiered meetings) and hold teams accountable for results.
  • Partner with QA and Product Development to ensure quality standards are consistently met for both new and existing products, providing input into cost models and process capabilities.
  • Identify training and development opportunities, providing coaching aligned with Lean and capability-building goals.
  • Model Chudleigh’s values by fostering a positive environment where employees feel empowered to contribute ideas and take ownership of performance.
  • Create contingency plans for staffing and process reliability to ensure business continuity.
  • Lead by example, provide coaching for success, and recognize team members’ contributions in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $100,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
