At Deluxe Beds Ltd we are excited to offer an opportunity for a hands-on Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations and associated QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) functions. This is a key role within the company and we are seeking someone either with furniture industry experience, or production manager experience in a UK manufacturing environment.
Deluxe Beds is an A-Rated member of the NBF (National Bed Federation) as well as a 4-Pillar Sedex/SMETA audited company & produces mattresses, divans, ottomans, bed frames, headboards & pillows for the UK, European & Contract market.
The ideal candidate will bring strong production management experience and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years in production management (manufacturing).
  • Proven ability to meet targets while maintaining quality
  • Leadership and team synergy
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced settings
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and QA processes
  • Analytical skills with experience maintaining audit documentation
  • Proficiency in written and spoken communication and numeracy
  • IT proficiency, including experience with CRM systems and Excel
  • Proven adaptability to change

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of bed manufacturing or similar industries
  • Relevant degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification
  • Familiarity with industry standards (NBF, Sedex)
  • QHSE management experience
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar H&S certifications
  • Experience leading diverse teams
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the directors and liaising with supervisors, you will lead a team of approximately 45 factory staff to ensure timely production, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with health & safety regulations. You’ll also oversee training initiatives, maintain skills sustainability, and drive continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan production
  • Lead and support supervisors to meet production targets
  • Monitor and improve production efficiency and productivity while maintaining quality and eliminating waste
  • Create a safe work environment through maintaining up-to-date risk assessments, inspections, and incident resolution
  • Implement training programs to develop a multi-skilled team and reduce reliance on specific staff
  • Ensure compliance with QHSE and industry standards (NBF, Sedex, ISO 9001, fire testing, etc.)
  • Collaborate with management to address challenges and enhance staff performance and morale
