POSITION SUMMARY:

The Prep Room Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the preparation area. This role involves managing a team, ensuring food safety and quality standards, and optimizing workflow to meet production goals. The Prep Room Manager plays a key role in maintaining a smooth and organized preparation process.

Requirements:

  • Previous related experience in a packaging/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Supervising and managing people for performance and productivity
  • Comfortable with communicating and giving feedback as needed to employees and management.
  • Demonstrates team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching skills and ability to motivate others and act as a change agent.
  • Experience in a dynamic, flexible work environment where organization is a key factor in success.
  • Must be able to communicate expectations clearly.
  • Ability to unify a team in a high-volume, high-energy environment.
  • Communication skills that encourage an environment of openness and professionalism.
  • Understanding and aptitude for team member and peer development.
  • Ability to accept and act on feedback

Responsibilities
  • Communicates with Managers to understand development plans in place for the team and deliver corrective action as necessary.
  • Maintains effective communication with Production Managers to ensure the efficiency of the daily production targets.
  • Conduct daily department meetings with staff.
  • Document and follow up on all department processes to implement improvements.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in proper working order
  • Ensure raw materials are prepped according to recipe specifications
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, and refrigeration equipment while adhering to proper food handling and storage standards.
  • All regular prep workers duties - Weighing ingredients to exact increments.
  • Taking inventory of items, making sure we have enough to complete the recipe.
  • Communicating with management and purchasing to accurately plan the changes in production.
  • Ensure all paperwork and process data is filled out completely and accurately.
  • Completes and follows daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
  • Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy, follows HACCP guidelines.
  • Completes all required documentation, reports, logs as required.
  • Track inventory and restock all items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Guide, motivate and train staff on all department processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
