    Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in manufacturing? Do you thrive in collaborative environments, are expert at coordinating production processes, and able to ensure quality output? If so, our client, a fast-growing manufacturing company in the Newcastle area, is looking for a Production Manager to join their senior management team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualification in trades, operation management, engineering, production management or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a production manager or a similar
  • Background in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production optimisation
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive high performance teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in developing and managing production schedules, budgets, and quality control measures

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, WHS standards and maintain risk management strategies to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders including design, engineering, sales and procurement teams to ascertain production capabilities, feasibility and efficiency; and communicate any challenges and updates regularly.
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of quality control standards, ensuring product integrity by implementing inspection processes and corrective action plans.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, identifying cost saving opportunities by optimising resource utilisation, reducing waste and inefficiencies, monitoring costs, labour efficiency and material usage to drive profitability
  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain material availability and identify and mitigate risks related to stock shortages, delays, and excess inventory.
  • Drive investment in new technologies and automation to enhance production capabilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of equipment and facilities by implementing preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
