Role: Production Manager
Location: South Kirkby
Salary: £40,000pa - £45,000pa
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, flexible hours

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE PRODUCTION MANAGER:

  • Previous experience working in a Management capacity within a manufacturing facility is required
  • HACCP level 2 qualification desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely desirable
  • Good people management, developing and training staff as appropriate
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our rapidly expanding client is seeking an experienced, motivated Production Manager to join their team in South Kirkby. You will be responsible for overseeing production activities to ensure they meet statutory and regulatory standards, drive operational effectiveness and remain aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRODUCTION MANAGER:

  • Lead, motivate and develop production teams to optimise performance and achieve operational targets.
  • Manage departmental labour deployment to ensure all areas are appropriately resourced.
  • Oversee raw material usage in line with allocation, escalating and resolving issues to minimise losses.
  • Track, analyse, and report departmental KPIs and performance data, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to senior management.
  • Drive and maintain full compliance with statutory and regulatory standards including health and safety, environmental legislation, building regulations, fire safety and electrical requirements.
  • Support and coordinate compliance audits and inspections, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, certifications, permits and compliance records.
  • Oversee day to day site operations, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring facilities, assets and equipment meet required standards and operate within budget.
  • Manage and monitor service contracts, ensuring agreed standards are achieved and delivered consistently.
  • Coordinate and implement planned preventive maintenance with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Lead the planning, development and execution of capital and revenue projects, driving continuous site improvement and modernisation in line with business objectives.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures relevant to the site and working environment.
