Position Title: Production Manager Location: Burnaby, BC Reporting to: Senior Manager, Operations Salary: 97K - 117K / year Position Summary The Production Manager is responsible for leading and executing daily manufacturing operations across Sheet Metal, Boiler Assembly Lines, Software & Doors, Facilities Maintenance, and Production Planning. This role focuses on people leadership, production execution, flow stability, and operational discipline, ensuring that production plans are executed safely, efficiently, and accurately, while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement (SDQCE). This role is critical to improving throughput, inventory accuracy, and operational reliability in a growing manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Provide daily leadership, direction, and coaching to Production Leads, and hourly employees across assembly, sheet metal, and maintenance. Set clear expectations, conduct performance reviews, identify gaps and develop development programs for production staff. Lead workforce planning, onboarding, training, and skills development in production. Production & Planning Ensure labor, materials, tooling, and equipment are ready to support production targets. Actively manage production constraints, minimizing downtime and lost capacity. Escalate risks on time and partner with Engineering and Purchasing to resolve issues. Inventory Accuracy & ERP Execution Ensure accurate shop-floor transactions in the ERP system (Oracle), including WIP moves, completions, scrap, and backflush accuracy. Enforce standard work and discipline for material handling and inventory movement. Partner with Planning, Warehouse, and Purchasing to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies. Support cycle count execution and root cause analysis of variances. Quality & Continuous Improvement Drive adherence to standard work, work instructions, and quality requirements. Lead root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, A3) for defects, downtime, and rework. Champion Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase productivity. Facilities & Maintenance Oversight Coordinate facilities and maintenance activities to support reliable production operations. Ensure preventive maintenance plans are executed, and equipment uptime is protected. Health, Safety & Compliance · Enforce safety standards in compliance with WorkSafeBC and company policies. Promote a proactive safety culture through training, audits, and incident prevention. Ensure timely reporting, investigations, and corrective actions for safety incidents. Budgeting & Reporting Assist in developing and managing the departmental budget, including labor, maintenance, and capital expenditures. • Track and report KPIs including safety, output, efficiency, downtime, quality, and schedule adherence. Requirements Qualifications Education & Certifications Post-secondary degree or diploma in Operations Management, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset. OFA Level 2 certification is an asset. Experience 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including leading supervisors/leads and multi-functional teams. Strong experience executing production plans in an ERP-driven environment (Oracle preferred). Proven track record of improving throughput, quality, and team performance. Experience managing facilities or maintenance teams in a manufacturing context. Experience working in an assembly-based manufacturing environment is an asset. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict management skills. Solid understanding of manufacturing flow, bottlenecks, and production systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent). Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
