Iron Embers Inc. is a small business in Guelph, ON. We have been building premium quality firepits since 2011, and have branched out to also include a range of metal fabrication services. We are looking for a Production Manager to join our team. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in metal fabrication manufacturing.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a production or plant management role.
  • Holds CWB weld tickets for GMAW and/or MCAW processes, with preference given to individuals with Supervisor level certification.
  • Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication processes, equipment, and blueprint reading.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of Manufacturing (including: welding, metal finishing, and industrial painting), as well as Shipping.
  • Maintain high-quality manufacturing standards and ensure all products meet specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Humbly work alongside production workers when extra manpower is needed.
  • Lead and motivate a team of 5-15 workers, onboarding new members as needed.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in labor, materials, and production processes.
  • Implement and oversee quality control measures to minimize defects and rework.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and project deadlines.
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Ensure proper allocation of materials, equipment, and labor to meet production targets.
  • Purchasing for production inventory and supplies
  • Maintain correct inventory levels for parts and finished goods, coordinated with sales demand.
  • Facilitate regular production meetings and monitor production loads to review resource needs.
  • Recognize employees’ accomplishments and contributions towards the business KPI’s.
  • Ensure that expectations of product quality are communicated and monitored by coaching employees.
  • Collaborating with other key functional areas of the business on a daily basis and in weekly meetings.
  • Oversee/perform maintenance on key production equipment.
