If you’re a committed team player, we would love to have you as part of our team.  Reporting to the Senior Plant Manager (Mississauga), the Plant Manager - PM Shift (Mississauga)will be responsible for Ensure department is meeting business requirements while meeting the budget.  Shift: Monday to Friday (occasional weekends required) – 2:30 pm to 12:00 am. What's in it for you? * Health benefits and pension plan * Weekly pay * Discount at our Chicken Shop * Opportunities for career advancement * A culture that values humility, respect for family and hard work What you will be doing: * Manage the responsible area (all production departments on second shift) by ensuring that all aspects of production, food safety and quality are met.  * Ensure all aspects of the operation are followed and enforced (e.g. safety, quality, yield, union issues, HACCP, BRC, etc.) on a daily basis, and that all Supervisors are following established guidelines and expectations on productivity, quality, and safety.  * Ensures that all finished product raw and trayed is adequately protected against intentional and /or unintentional contamination during process  * Liaise as with other departments to ensure all plant expectations are met.  * Ensures that all raw products manufactured in all departments meets the company and customer requirements trim and packaging specification.  * Report and coordinate with own and other departmental activities and product requirements to fill daily orders as per tool.  * Communicate effectively to coordinate second shift work and insure daily schedule raw and tray pack are adhered to.  * End of shift communication to internal / external regarding second shift challenges and shorts.  * Participates or assigns an employee when new products are developed, and during plant trials. * People Supervision: a. Provide overall management of a large team or business area and includes management of individuals indirectly through subordinate supervisors or managers. b. Establish goals and priorities and manage the activities and work of subordinates Evaluate their performance by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets. c. Develop team capabilities through continue on-the-job and formal training opportunities and coaching.  * KPI: a. Monitor the operational performance of area of responsibility against approved Labour variance targets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are improved  * Budgeting: a. Monitor the financial performance of area of responsibility against approved budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized on. * Policies, Processes & Procedures a. Recommend, develop and implement enhancements and improvements to departmental policies and procedures. b. Ensure that all employees under position leadership, follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. c. Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures. Promote and comply with all Maple Lodge Farms Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental  * Management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. * Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices laid out by the company. * Actively participate in all internal and external audits.  * Investigate, find root cause, determine corrective action and/or preventative measures and follow up on any deviations noted while performing assigned tasks. * Responsible for food safety, quality and legal responsibilities as defined in departmental procedures (e.g. Regulatory Program, SOPs, BRC requirements etc.). * Attend all meeting related to Operations, Continuous Improvement, HACCP/Food Safety and quality. What you will bring: * Minimum 5 years’ Supervisory and/or Management experience in a food manufacturing industry; preferably meat and in a unionized environment;  * Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;  * Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS;  * Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders;  * Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;  * Knowledge of process improvement tools;  * Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;  * Computer literacy (MS Office).  * Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in related field.
