Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for a Production Manager to join our growing Operations team in Bishops Cleeve. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our manufacturing operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment.

The role:

You will be responsible for managing production output, acting as a direct escalation to support the operations team, and driving continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency, and support business growth.

  • Driving a Safety-first Culture supporting and ensuring a safe working environment for all teams.
  • Optimize efficiency by reducing process time, to help drive a reduction in product manufacturing time.
  • Manage production schedules to ensure we meet our customer and financial requirements.
  • Ensure the operational KPI’s are in line with the business targets, ensuring action is taken when a negative trend is identified.
  • Support the first time build process, acting as an operational focal and leading build events alongside the team to de risk and mitigate potential problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Engineering) to resolve issues and remove constraints
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the Value Creation Plan (VCP) through operational excellence.
  • Support Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) processes
  • Contribute to strategic planning, production capacity management and readiness for business growth.
  • Lead, coach, support and develop Cell Managers, fostering a high-performance culture and employee engagement.

About you:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced production leader to drive operational success, efficiency, and long-term business growth. You’ll have a excellent leadership skills with a natural ability to coach, mentor and build successful teams. You’ll possess knowledge of lean manufacturing, CI tools, and production planning as well as excellent problem-solving skills and a positive collaborative approach.
You’ll need experience in leading product transitions and optimizing first-time build processes as well as the ability to support RCCA investigations and embed corrective actions effectively.
