THE OPPORTUNITY

Threadheads is seeking a Production Manager to lead the Melbourne production floor and drive innovation across global operations. This role extends beyond ensuring machines are running smoothly; it is about re-imagining what a modern, on-demand fulfilment centre can be.
The Production Manager will oversee day-to-day operations while introducing automation, robotics, and process improvements that increase capacity, improve quality, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end DTG and DTF production, from pretreat to print to pack
• Manage 14 Brother GTX printers in Melbourne and coordinate with production teams in China and the USA
• Implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce reprints
• Trial and deploy automation solutions, including folding/packing machines, robotics, and AI-driven workflows
• Roll out the company’s in-house production automation software
• Mentor and develop team leads and operators, setting clear KPIs
• Manage consumables and stock levels via Thread Lab and local suppliers
• Collaborate with fulfilment teams to reduce bottlenecks
• Support the global alignment of SOPs and production systems
• Travel occasionally to assist with global builds and training

Candidate Requirements

• Hands-on printing experience: DTG, DTF, or screen printing
• Proven leadership in a production or warehouse environment
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
• A natural tinkerer with a strong interest in automation and emerging technologies
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment

  Salary: $80-100k + super
