Description
The Production Manager will lead and optimize the refurbishing operations for our electronics production lines. This role is critical in ensuring peak efficiency, adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs), and delivering high-quality refurbished devices. Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: * Assist in Production Planning — Partner with Plant Manager to build and adjust daily and weekly production schedules, prioritize workflows to align plans with demand and available capacity. * Coordinate Resources Across Work Centers — Balance labor, equipment, and materials across multiple work centers to mitigate bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and maintain product throughput. * Oversee EHS on the Production Floor — Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies; lead routine floor audits, hazard identification, and corrective actions; ensure associates are trained on and follow all EHS procedures. * Oversee Associate Work Schedules — Manage shift coverage, PTO, attendance, and overtime to match production needs while controlling labor cost and avoiding burnout. * Oversee Cross-Training and Goal Setting — Maintain a skills matrix for each work center, drive cross-training so every station has qualified backups, and set and review individual performance goals with associates. * Own Department and Work Center KPIs — Track, post, and act on KPIs. Document throughput, yield, defect rate, turnaround time, and equipment utilization. * Lead, train, and motivate Department Leads and production team to meet performance standards and work cohesively towards shared goals. * Conduct daily/weekly huddles to review production performance, KPIs, identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions.  Competencies/Skills/Abilities: * Proven ability to drive efficiency improvements and meet KPIs in a high-volume production setting * Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI tracking and performance management * Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems * Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other efficiency improvement methodologies is highly desirable * Excellent leadership skills with the ability to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines * Ability to read the room, manage conflict effectively, and maintain a positive floor culture during high-stress production peaks. * Adaptability capable of adjusting production schedules on the fly due to supply chain shifts or equipment downtime without losing team momentum. * Coaching Mindset for mentorship; someone who doesn't just give orders but actively develops the next generation of supervisors. * Strategic foresight to look beyond the daily to-do list to identify long-term bottlenecks before they impact the bottom line. * Ownership Mentality with a high level of accountability; treats the production floor and its performance as if it were their own business. Required Education and Experience: * Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent production floor leadership experience may be substituted for the degree.   * 5+ years of production or production supervision experience, preferably in electronics refurbishing or manufacturing. A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business may be substituted for the 5+ years of experience.   * Experience with and understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
