Job Title: Production Manager
Job status: Full-time employee, Exempt Salary

Reports to: General Manager

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Production Manager to oversee direct production operations with a strong focus on achieving daily and monthly output schedules, maintaining high quality standards, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to coach and develop team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise direct labor activities to meet daily and monthly production schedules while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling to coordinate shift and personnel assignments; ensure all required materials, equipment, and documentation are available and followed.
  • Monitor and analyze production, maintenance, and quality control reports to ensure operational goals are achieved.
  • Investigate and resolve quality, efficiency, and production issues as they arise.
  • Ensure all shift personnel comply with company policies and safety procedures, including proper use of safety equipment.
  • Conduct daily safety and production meetings, and provide ongoing training, coaching, and leadership to team members.
  • Perform quality audits, lean manufacturing assessments, and lead 5S safety and housekeeping initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions; track outcomes and perform root-cause analysis as needed.
  • Maintain ISO compliance and lead improvement initiatives related to standards and documentation.
  • Verify and submit accurate daily production and attendance records.
  • Partner with other departments to establish production standards for new products.
  • Provide effective coaching and feedback to associates; conduct annual performance reviews and manage performance objectives.
  • Support efforts in cost containment, productivity, waste minimization, and inventory control.
  • Understand and act on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive operational success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet company objectives and improve manufacturing operations.

EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of related supervisory experience in high/low volume assembly, finishing, machining or similar production environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of inventory control practices
  • Fast Pace Production Experience
  • Knowledge of ISO and TS standards and systems
  • Microsoft Office
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to coach and counsel employees
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Continuous Improvement mentality
  • Must be available for any shift
  • A two-year college degree in engineering or another technical field a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing understanding a plus
