The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the manufacturing department operates at peak efficiency. This role focuses on working directly with employees to improve output, maintain quality standards, and uphold health and safety compliance.
The Production Manager serves as the primary contact for all manufacturing partners, including overseeing the bidding process to secure new contracts. The PM coordinates with the Vocational Lead to support the delivery of services for individuals working at Sandco. Key responsibilities include monitoring staff productivity, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all requirements are met to sustain Sandco’s 14(c) certification through DOL.

· Assist with shipping and receiving as needed.

· Assist in the budget process by estimating costs and preparing budgets.
· Organize workflow to meet production specifications and deadlines.
· Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

· Ability to maintain facility, equipment, and safety to the highest standards.
· Competent in operating computers, phones, and office equipment, including internal software systems.
· Strong problem-solving and independent decision-making abilities.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
· Strong multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Proficiency in using technology applications daily.
· Professionalism and confidentiality in all communications and decisions.
· Must obtain and maintain Adult Service Worker training as required by DODD.
· High School Diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing operations.
· Strong leadership and project management skills.
· Proven ability to train employees in productivity and safety.
· Experience coaching and mentoring employees individually and in groups.
· Demonstrated supervisory, scheduling, communication, and organizational skills.
· Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
· Above average math, reading, and writing skills.
· Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
· Must have valid Driver’s License & reliable transportation.
· Ability to operate hand carts, scales, and small hand tools.
· Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs. regularly.
· May be exposed to moderate noise, vibration, dust, and fumes.
· Moderate desk work involving computers and phones.
· Must be physically able to twist, bend, and operate equipment.
· Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· Bureau of Criminal Investigation check with no felony record.
· Ohio Department of DD Abuser Registry must result in no abuse record.
