Job Description Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for laboratory operations and team management? Join our high-performing laboratory team as a Production Manager, where you’ll oversee all aspects of production and customer service, ensuring accurate results, timely delivery, and continuous process improvement. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate laboratory operations across multiple sections including Organics, Inorganics, Metals, Asbestos, Technical Services, Sample Receipt, and Customer Service. You’ll lead a dedicated team, drive efficiency, and build strong client relationships while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily production workflow, rostering, and resource allocation. Oversee laboratory operations across all sections and ensure smooth communication. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring service contracts are delivered. Monitor job progress and proactively communicate delays or issues. Maintain quality systems in line with NATA and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Assist Laboratory Manager with equipment maintenance and operational efficiency. Mentor and develop staff, implement training programs, and conduct performance reviews. Support budget compliance and assist in controlling operational costs. Collaborate with internal teams to meet KPIs for service delivery. Address client queries promptly and ensure high satisfaction levels. Implement Lean and 5S initiatives to reduce waste and optimise processes. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will have: A degree in Science or equivalent tertiary education. Experience in commercial laboratory production scheduling. Proven experience in managing a successful team. Knowledge of quality management systems and NATA accreditation.
