Supplying customers across retail, foodservice and industrial markets, our client is a reputable FMCG business undergoing an exciting period of transformation and investment. With new equipment, production lines and technology being introduced, the site is expanding its manufacturing capability and creating opportunities to improve capacity, efficiency and automation.

Located in the SE Suburbs, this is an opportunity to lead production through an exciting period of growth, investment and operational change.

The Role

Reporting to the GM of Operations, this is a key leadership role responsible for day-to-day production performance and leading a team of approximately 60 across three key production areas.

• Lead production performance, delivering safe, quality and efficient outcomes across the site
• Own day-to-day operational decisions across safety, quality, service, people and cost
• Lead, coach and develop Production Leaders and the wider production team
• Drive performance against key KPIs, including throughput, labour, waste, quality and efficiency
• Champion food safety, quality and compliance across the production function
• Improve labour planning, workforce utilisation and labour cost management
• Partner with Planning and Supply Chain to improve production planning and strengthen S&OP
• Work closely with Engineering and equipment suppliers on new machinery, production lines and commissioning
• Support significant capital projects and the integration of new manufacturing capability
• Manage production OPEX, ensuring effective control of labour and operational costs
• Partner with Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement

Your Background

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven production leadership capability, a strong food safety mindset and a genuine passion for developing people and driving operational excellence.

• Proven people leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience within food, FMCG or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality and compliance systems, including HACCP, GMP and SQF
• Demonstrated ability to improve production performance through data, problem solving and continuous improvement
• Experience managing labour utilisation, production costs and operational budgets
• Strong production planning and S&OP capability, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
