Since 1963, Mathmos has been crafting iconic lava lamps in Britain. With a rich heritage of innovation and quality, we continue to produce our classic and contemporary designs in Britain. As we grow, we are looking for a dedicated Production and Operations Lead at senior management level to oversee and optimise our manufacturing and supply chain operations and move our product offering forward.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a production or operations leadership role
  • Experience in light manufacturing and ideally consumer goods
  • Strong people management and organisational skills
  • Hands-on approach and strong commercial skills
  • Ability to implement systems and processes for efficiency and quality
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, health & safety, and supply chain management
  • Comfortable with data, planning tools, and reporting systems
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

Leading a small team, you will ensure that our products are manufactured to the highest standards, on time and within budget. Reporting to the M.D., you will manage production, product development, facilities and the supply chain to improve operational efficiency and support the continued growth of a much-loved British brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of production, assembly, and fulfilment from our Poole factory and overseas fulfilment locations.
  • Maintain and improve production schedules and quality control processes
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships
  • Oversee the development of new products, and product upgrades
  • Oversee product testing, compliance and product standards
  • Manage the Poole factory, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and productivity
  • Produce operational reports and forecasts
