Description

Due to significant company growth and investment into a new purpose built premises we are looking for a new member to join our friendly team at a fast-growing manufacturer of globally distributed maintenance compounds.
Sylmasta manufactures high-end specialist adhesive products, used within maintenance and industry. We are a small and friendly team, producing products which are exported around the world.
The role of Factory Operative is to use production machinery to manufacture products, primarily coating composite fabrics, extruding epoxy putty, and mixing and filling adhesives. Other work will be final assembly and product finishing.
We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, friendly, self-motivated and can work to deadlines. The work is varied and requires good attention to detail and the ability to problem solve and adapt to change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to production schedules and deadlines, demonstrating effective time management skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Conduct quality checks on products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document production activities and report any discrepancies or concerns to supervisors.
  • Manage time effectively during shifts to ensure all responsibilities are completed.
  • Demonstrate reliability and commitment to the job by consistently arriving on time and ready to work.
  • Show initiative in identifying areas for improvement in the production process.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies diligently.

Basic mathematical ability is important for calculating weight requirements. Previous experience of working within a production environment will be an advantage.
This job involves occasional heavy lifting and use of PPE, including respirator masks when necessary.
