OVERVIEW

Due to continual growth and global expansion Geosense, a leading manufacturer of Geotechnical sensors, is looking for a Production Operative/Technician.
This role will be part of the successful production department during an exciting period of Geosense’s growth.
Geosense produces high quality robust sensors for civil, infrastructure, mining, and environmental sectors. These products are used on some of the world’s most prestigious construction projects.
The production department is based in a state-of-the-art modern production facility just outside Bury St Edmunds. The production process is a mixture of mechanical and electrical assembly with calibration and testing. Geosense is ISO 9001 accredited and utilises lean manufacturing, JIT and 5S processes.
The ideal candidate will be a capable practical individual who is willing to master and build on their existing production skills across a variety of electrical, mechanical assembly tasks as well as testing and calibration processes. They should have a high level of attention to detail and be methodical in their approach.
This role would be perfectly suited to an individual looking for a mid-level role in manufacturing with over a 1-year experience in a production or similar practical role. This role is part of a skill-based pay matrix and allows the candidate to progress and develop through learning different products and processes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a production or related practicable field
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £12.48-£16.24 per hour

Responsibilities
  • To assemble mid to complex products by following assembly and test instructions, keeping quality to a high standard.
  • Pick parts, record data on production records, completing works orders and updating the business system.
  • To test and calibrate products to defined processes.
  • Test, record and understand readings from the instruments to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Troubleshoot issues during the production process.
  • To work to an appropriate speed and competence on all products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area.
  • Prepare cables and solder them to the sensors.
  • Building effective internal relationships.
  • Working as a team with other production operatives/technicians and personnel from other departments.
