It’s the perfect time to join The Original Baker, with our new leadership team, a brand new bakery with large staff canteen, great shifts, generous pay rates and new benefits!
We offer £12.80 per hour, increasing to £13.17 per hour after successful probation. Optional overtime is often available and paid at time and a half. Our Production Operative work set shifts Monday to Friday 6 am - 2 pm.
This is a great opportunity for experienced Production Operatives to join our friendly team, helping produce our award-winning artisan savoury products and a mouthwatering selection of cakes and biscuits.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work in all areas of production, including preparing pastry, crimping pies, mixing, preparing fillings or packing products.
  • Use machinery and equipment safely.
  • Ensure products always meet quality standards.
  • Always follow health, safety and food hygiene procedures.
  • Keep your work area clean and tidy.
  • Help out in other departments when needed.

Key Skills and Competencies:
-

Previous experience in food manufacturing is desirable, but full training would be provided.

  • Basic understanding of hygiene practices in a food production environment.
  • Awareness of food safety standards such as HACCP and BRC would be advantageous.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • A flexible, proactive and solution focused approach.If you have experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, then we would love to hear from you.
