QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to speak and read English at an intermediate to advanced level for Safety and Quality compliance.
  • Must be familiar with metric system and perform basic calculations.
  • Experience complying with GMP and HACCP standards.
  • Experience or aptitude to complete forklift certification and drive a forklift.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Familiarity or general aptitude for ERP systems is preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to lift amounts up to 55 lbs. and use of material handling accessories
  • The work environment is normally in a Production Setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to view a computer screen
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Other physical requirements include moderate standing and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting.
  • Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement.
  • Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.

This position is located at a DEA-registered facility and may involve access to federally controlled substances. As such, employment is subject to compliance with all applicable federal laws and regulations, including those enforced by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Candidates for this position must:

  • Be able to pass a drug screening, and
  • Remain free of any Schedule I substance use (including cannabis/THC), regardless of its legal status under state law or medical authorization.

Due to DEA compliance requirements, individuals who test positive for any Schedule I controlled substance will be ineligible for employment in this role.

Responsibilities

QUALITY/SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

All Prinova employees are required to ensure compliance standards with food safety, food defense and food quality. (FDA, ILDPH, FSMA, DEA, USDA and BRC).
It is the responsibility of each employee to comply with occupational safety and health standards issued under OSHA and to follow all rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Company to ensure that their actions do not impact the health and safety of themselves or others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Completion of work assigned in manufacturing of products to ensure safety, quality, and cost-effective productivity.
  • Ensures that products are on production schedule and are produced to specification on blend sheet/work orders.
  • Follows all quality/safety and work orders procedures.
  • Determines that all raw materials are on hand production before beginning a batch. Works with Quality department to manage and determine the status of age on hand raw materials.
  • Understands H.A.C.C.P and maintain procedures and documentation for all Quality Systems in production.
  • Assist during BRC audit and customer audits as asked.
  • Completes all assigned training (Safety, Human Resources and Quality)
  • Maintains clean work areas including sweeping, mopping, organizing, cleaning pails and keeping floor clean in various areas as directed by management.
  • Operates various pieces of warehouse material handling equipment including fork lifts and pallet jacks.
  • Takes proper care of equipment used while performing job.
  • Cooperates with co-workers and management.
  • Helps to identify new manufacturing processes to improve production including integrating new production procedures, where applicable.
  • Able to be cross- trained in other production departments and fill-in for vacations or vacancies
