Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Bega’s Lagoon Street site is situated in the Bega Valley Shire and is the original site of Bega Cheese. Located on the beautiful Sapphire coast, far south coast of NSW, Lagoon Street is still producing Australia’s favourite cheese products – cheddar cheese, string cheese as well as butter.
We’re seeking Permanent Production Operators at Bega Valley - Lagoon St (NSW). In general, operators’ primary responsibility within Bega is to ensure all production is carried out effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner, and to deliver products safely, of the highest quality, at the lowest cost, with minimal waste in the correct quantity when required. The duties of the role may include but is not limited to manual handling tasks, operation of plant and equipment, monitoring and recording of information, inspection and sorting of materials and product and compliance with GMP standards.
We have a couple of vacancies across day and night shifts. Shift pattern rotates between Monday – Thursday and Tues – Saturday, 10 hours per shift. Candidates need to be comfortable working long hours and be available across days listed above.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate machinery and equipment on the production line following safety and operational standards
  • Document production data, including quantities produced, time taken, and quality control notes
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers about production status and any concerns.
  • Ensure production areas are maintained in a tidy condition and cleaned according to quality standards
  • Adhere to company safety and quality policies and procedures
