Description Company Overview: At Gold Star, we offer feed and nutrition services and commodity trading in the northeastern U.S., primarily to dairies. As feed and commodity specialists, our customers count on us to originate feed for the mills, manufacture it according to their unique specifications and handle logistics for a safe and smooth delivery every time. Job Summary: A Production Operator will organize, perform and complete the manufacturing of meal & pelleted feeds to order. Includes monitoring and testing for quality assurance as required. Complete the required daily reports and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Safety Orientated Climbing ladders and working at heights on top of facility Perform scale weight test weekly Dump bag ingredients into mixes as formula requires Load – unload trucks at the dock as needed Load Gold Star Bag Trucks or Bulk Trucks for deliveries Pull Bag orders for next day’s bag truck deliveries Ensure bulk commodities are flowing from bulk bins Refill Micro ingredient hoppers as needed Operate Bulk Feed manufacturing system Cross train across all departments, assist team as needed Perform daily inspections of mobile equipment Perform minor maintenance on equipment including lubrication and adjustments Learn and use online systems to complete safety and quality assurance forms and audits Clean facility per our sanitation schedule, or as assigned by management Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work. Other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in feed milling, agriculture, food production, or manufacturing preferred. Ability to train and then operate forklifts, loaders, and other mill equipment. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Comfortable with shift work, weekends, or overtime as needed. Physical Demands: Indoor/outdoor mill setting with exposure to dust, noise, and temperature changes. Fast-paced team environment with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and quality. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, climb 75 feet of ladder, and be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and a background check.
