As a Machine Operator with HMI, you will learn the unique trade of glass manufacturing. This role combines the skills and ability of a person who is mechanically inclined with an artistic edge which sets our product apart from the rest. If you are interested in learning and advancing with a company who cares about our employees, HMI is the home for you.    Duties and Responsibilities  * Responsible for learning all tasks associated with assigned tempering production line station.  * Assists in maintaining paperwork that was placed on the glass during the cutting process and keeps it in order to ensure it returns to the correct piece of glass. * Performs inspections on all glass as it is moved from each machine to check for quality issues. If quality issues are discovered, follows procedure to have issue(s) assessed by an authorized individual.  * Assists with keeping the floor clean of tripping hazards and mop up water puddles as needed.  * Assists as needed in other departmental functions and housekeeping duties. * Ensure the working environment is clean and safe. * All other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: * Ability to read a tape measure and identify written measurements.  * Operates machinery including saws, drills, and power tools. * Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.  * Ability to work well with team and under pressure.   Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to lift, handle, or feel; use finger(s) to push buttons; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves frequent walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting glass panels up to 75lbs repeatedly and stand for an  8–10-hour shift or until all orders are completed for the day.    Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to water, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Production facility is not climate controlled. Required Education:  High School Diploma or GED  Required Experience:  None. Warehouse and/or construction background a plus.   
Responsibilities
The Production Operator is responsible for operating glass manufacturing machinery and performing quality inspections on glass panels. They must also maintain a clean and safe work environment while assisting with various departmental tasks.
