Description
Company Description Founded in 1976, E K Industries, Inc. (EKI) manufactures and packages high-purity chemical and reagent solutions used in laboratories, hospitals, and industrial settings. Our work supports diagnostic and research operations across the United States with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance. As production demand continues to grow, we are seeking dependable individuals who take pride in hands-on, detail-oriented work that directly contributes to products used in critical laboratory environments. EKI offers a stable, team-oriented workplace where safety, consistency, and accountability are valued every day. Job Description Position Summary The Production Operator – Packaging and Assembly is a key member of EKI’s manufacturing team, responsible for supporting the preparation, filling, labeling, and packaging of finished goods according to written batch instructions and safety procedures. Operators perform hands-on work throughout the production process — handling materials, assembling packaging components, and ensuring all products meet strict quality and labeling standards. Depending on the production schedule, assignments may include filling and labeling containers, assembling packaging material, or preparing finished goods for shipment. This role requires attention to detail, physical activity, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, routinely lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain reliable attendance and transportation. Qualifications Qualifications ● High school diploma or equivalent required. ● One to two years of manufacturing, packaging, or production experience preferred (chemical or regulated industry experience a plus). ● Forklift experience preferred; training provided. ● Basic math, reading, and documentation skills required. ● Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented. ● Reliable transportation required. ● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift. ● Must be comfortable working with chemicals using personal protective equipment (PPE). Key Responsibilities ● Perform production and packaging activities in accordance with batch records, work instructions, and safety procedures. ● Accurately weigh, measure, and handle materials to ensure proper fill levels and packaging integrity. ● Operate semi-automatic filling, capping, and labeling equipment — performing each step of the process to ensure containers are properly filled, sealed, and identified. ● Assemble and prepare packaging components (such as containers, labels, and outer cartons) for production use. ● Inspect filled containers and assembled products for cleanliness, proper labeling, and accurate identification before final packaging. ● Safely handle and move materials using pallet jacks or forklifts. ● Maintain clean, organized work areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company safety policies. ● Record batch and material data accurately for traceability. ● Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and cleaning between production runs. ● Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, and Shipping teams to meet daily output and quality objectives. Additional Information Compensation and benefits ● Full-time, hourly position (40 hours per week). ● Paid time off (vacation, holiday pay, sick pay) ● Medical/Dental insurance benefit ● Retirement plan benefit Additional Information ● Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and E-Verify confirmation. ● EKI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
