Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to work instruction specifications
In a production environment and after training a full understanding of being able to read and understand work instructions. Be able to work in a team achieving internal and customer PPM targets. Follow health and safety procedures.
Under close supervision, the Assembler carries out assigned tasks in a highly structured, repetitive environment. A key part of this role is to learn focused tasks well, and repeat these tasks to produce a high volume of quality product in the shortest possible time, to maintain production schedules. This role may be extremely flexible to work on most or all products and processes within the manufacturing operation, dependent upon the need within the production schedule.

JOB DUTIES:

· In a production environment, meet daily targets. (Perform to an 85%)
· Produce good quality product and achieve internal and customer PPM. (Quality Awareness) Training will be provided
· Show a willingness to learn new skills (key skills) training will be provided
· Maintain good time keeping and attendance meet Policy Standards

· Follow Health & Safety procedure as per Sanmina instruction

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - practices 5S

· Demonstrate the use of SPC and OEE techniques (training will be provided)
· Adhere to the times given for Tea/Lunch breaks
· Work in teams and assist with induction of continuous improvements
· Where applicable and after training is able to use Cutting/Terminating/BPY/Moulding machines etc.
· Any other reasonable duties as required in the course of their Job – Including overtime if required
· Sitting or standing for length periods no manual or heavy lifting involved
· Manual dexterity is vitally important as is colour recognition and the ability to read letters/numbers on very small components
· May also be exposed to hand soldering (including surface mount) – (training will be provided)
· Liaise with Line Leader and Supervision if concerns arise with Material or Documentation
· Support continuous improvement via the Employee Suggestion Scheme

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

· Independently operates various manufacturing equipment, fully certified, according to documented processes and defined schedules
· Independently assembles components according to process documentation.
· Conducts product inspection and/or testing, documenting as required, according to specific procedures

· Recognizes discrepancies in documentation or problems with quality, product or process, and recommends changes to the relevant departments
