The Company Freeze Dried Foods NZ Ltd was established in 1997, after 20 years of experience in the freeze drying industry, and is the largest freeze drying operation in the Southern Hemisphere. Freeze drying is a unique process, and incorporates the most advanced engineering technology and the latest computer control processes. This enables us to consistently produce large volumes of top-quality product, day after day to meet even the most demanding of product specs. The role We're looking for a reliable and hands-on Production Operators to join our team at Freeze Dried Foods (FDF) based in Meihana place, Hastings. In this role, you'll be operating our freeze driers and other processing equipment to make high-quality food products. These are full-time, permanent roles working 12 hour shifts - 3 days on followed by 3 days off. There are opportunities for both Day Shift (5.45am to 5.45pm) and Night Shift (5.45pm to 5.45am). Key responsibilities: Check product quality and follow safety standards Keep equipment clean and running smoothly Follow all food safety (GMP) and hygiene procedures Work safely – for yourself and your team Record data and complete production paperwork Be ready to help wherever needed on the production floor Key requirements: Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment Enjoys hands-on work and learning new skills Works well in a team and communicates clearly Follows safety and hygiene rules closely Can handle physical work and operate equipment safely (forklift experience a plus!).
