LOCATION: Columbus, WI
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, support and implement programs to enhance cost performance in manufacturing and improving responsiveness to customers. The key hub of information passing to and from Manufacturing in relation to meeting customer requirements. Create and manage many excel reports to help with communication of readiness dates. Work with teams to execute projects to advance continuous improvement of processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the SPOT Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation’s efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate.
  • Plans and formulates production schedules for all production equipment to conform with releases and inventory requirements.
  • Advises all machines of any schedule changes.
  • Communicates any scheduling issues to Customer Service so they can keep customers informed.
  • Advises when overtime may be required to meet customer demands and keep backlogs down.
  • Organizes overall procedures for a specific allocation of time and selects program of manufacture in accordance with shipping commitments.
  • Schedules manufacturing load for most economical procedures, equipment utilization, etc.
  • Maintains check on material inventories, production progress and other factors affecting schedules.
  • Determines recourse in event of failures to meet schedules.
  • Revises schedules and issues orders to suit order changes, cancellations, etc.
  • Maintains current knowledge of manufacturing procedures, capacities and capabilities; company products and components; and production control procedures. Utilizes this knowledge in the scheduling of equipment.
  • Update machine routings for all machines/specs/item numbers as outlined by manufacturing as needed.
  • Correspond with internal parties to ensure that Dr. Wind priorities and rework is completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist Raw materials coordinators to ensure that materials arrive on time to meet the current press schedules for the coming week.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associates (A.S.) or Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Logistics; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to handle pressure and get along well with peers. And find creative solutions to situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to communicate clearly to every level of the organization. Ability to effectively assemble and present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
