Our company is currently searching for someone to join our materials and purchasing team as our Production Planner. This position will work within a team and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and will be based in our Chicago. IL office. We are seeking someone who is capable of performing a multitude of functions while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. This role will require the selected candidate to be in office Monday through Friday 7am - 3:30pm. Key Role and Responsibilities: Raw Material Management: Ensure timely creation of purchase orders, resolve inventory discrepancies, and maintain raw material availability Scheduling & Forecasting: Maintain weekly production schedules, adjusting quantities based on forecasts and inventory targets. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials; perform cycle counts on raw materials weekly and on spot basis as needed Communication: Coordinate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders such as production supervisors, plant managers, sales team members and supplier's customer service representatives. Initiatives: Provide support for cost out projects and review internally for any optimization opportunities. Skills: High School Diploma Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Past experience in buying or scheduling, preferably for a manufacturer Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel ERP systems, preferably IQMS Math proficiency This list is non-exhaustive and may not include all responsibilities.
