PRODUCTION PLANNER

Location: 100% Onsite – Canton, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Full-time)
Clearance Requirement: DOD Compliant – U.S. citizens or nationals only
Interview Process: 1–2 onsite rounds

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating the overall planning, implementation, and optimization of materials and processes necessary to ensure efficient product and service delivery. This role supports manufacturing and supply chain execution through strategic planning, capacity modeling, and inventory control. The position requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree with relevant experience (minimum)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technical, or Supply Chain field (preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national to meet DOD compliance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with production scheduling and supply chain planning
  • Familiarity with ERP or supply chain software (SAP S4 HANA preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid organizational and process orientation
  • Experience interpreting technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
  • Customer service mindset
    Note: Some weekend work may be required (1–3 weekends per year for plant safety coverage).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain supply and capacity plans using engineering specifications and production requirements
  • Create tactical operating plans to drive manufacturing and supply chain performance
  • Monitor and adjust plans based on safety stock levels, inventory targets, and order policies
  • Provide accurate shipment commitments and manage schedule changes
  • Track progress of production schedules and resolve potential delays
  • Manage inventory levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and support disposition activities
  • Prepare timely cost proposals and support new product introduction processes
  • Contribute to financial forecasting and standard cost development
  • Measure and report on key performance metrics (Delivery, Inventory, Quote Response)
  • Drive continual process improvement and enhance planning system functionality
  • Solve routine problems and contribute to broader team goals
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and customer service teams
